To keep from freezing in the Great White North, Angela K. Couch cuddles under quilts with her laptop. Winning short story contests, being a semi-finalist in ACFW’s Genesis Contest, and a finalist in the International Digital Awards also helped warm her up. As a passionate believer in Christ, her faith permeates the stories she tells. Her martial arts training, experience with horses, and appreciation for good romance sneak in there, as well. When not writing, she stays fit (and warm) by chasing after five munchkins.

MY THOUGHTS

Lenora has made some difficult decisions in life. They may not have been the right ones, and far different then her Pastor father would make, but she made them. She now has found herself fleeing her saloon singing job and trying to flee her ex. She makes it to Canada and is welcomed with open arms by a mountie's sister, Melina. Melina has been lonely since coming to assist her mountie brother, Bryce. She is excited to have Lenora stay with them. What is supposed to be temporary turns into a bigger situation when Lenora's former boss/beau sends hired hands to look for her. Can she escape her past? What about the feelings that she is feeling toward Bryce. Can he accept who she was?

Where Wild Roses Bloom is set in Canada. The author has done some amazing research and I felt that I learned alot about the area that it is set in, along with the mountie life. The book is well written. It does touch on some touch subjects. Examples of this would be pre-marriage intimacy, and having a job in a saloon. The author writes these subjects with delicacy and shows God's love and forgiveness through them all. It also shows that we may try and run from our past, but God is always there pursuing us and wanting to hold and guide us.

I have read books by this author before. She writes fantastic stories. I will admit, this book was one that I read straight through and did not want to end. I hope to read more from this series.
