My Thoughts

A Vanishing Act is written by Edwina Kiernan. This is part of the Ever After Mysteries. The series is retelling of fairy tales with the author's own twist. In this one, We are in the 1940's. This is a interpretation of Beauty and the Beast. Actor, Kent Selwood has been paired with diva Stella Sanders. He does not like her - and is very mean and rude to her. He is very egotistical, arrogant and full of himself.

Suddenly Stella disappears and Kent becomes the prime suspect. There is one person that believes his innocence and that is Bonnie. She is one of the seamstresses. I loved Bonnie. She is a Christian with a sweet heart. She is used to being in the background. She wants to help solve the mystery. She has a peace and calm to her - while Kent is not happy with his life.

The author did a great job in bringing 1940's Hollywood glitz and glam to life. I loved the characters, the storyline and the setting. The book flows nicely and is a quick and easy read. I have enjoyed the Ever After Mysteries.
