MY THOUGHTS

Raise your hand if you are happy that the Love Inspired Historical series has been releasing new stories. *raises both hands* The Love Inspired Historical books are what drew me in way back when I won a copy of The Bounty Hunter's Bride by Erica Vetsch. I was sad when they stopped releasing them - and have been thrilled to know that they are back.... even if temporary.

The Rancher's Want Ad Mix-Up is written by Megan Besing. The book is set in Missouri in 1889. This is one of my favorite time periods to read and write about. Della Mae Wagner has answered a want ad looking for a teacher. She wanted to get away from her mother's disappointing looks. She also needed a fresh start when her fiancé broke their engagement for someone who had more wealth. She had a desire to teach and make a difference in children's lives, not work for free at her father's newspaper in Indiana.

Hank is used to his parents mettling ways. Since he lost Evelyn his mother and fathers have had a long line of willing women show up on their door step hoping to win Hank's heart. When Della shows up - he figures he is just like the others. They want a piece of his wealth. She is just as confused as he is when he finds out the want ad they placed in the newspaper was not just a teaching position but for a wife for him.

There is so much that I like about this book. I loved how Della was with Hank's children. She won them over quicker then she thought she would. Even when Hank made it clear she would not be staying and he can pay her return fare back to Indiana. What he did not count on is his kids behaving and not trying to chase her off. Slowly he feels the walls around his heart start to crack. Can he make it work for them both?

I fell in love with these characters. The kids are comical. Alice and Roy seem to know what their son needs more then their son does. The storyline is unique and had me chuckling throughout.

I have never read a book by this author before. I hope to read more from her in the future. Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
